In December 2002, Eileen O’Hara made twelve jars of Habanero Pepper Jelly as a Christmas gift for her husband, Rick. He shared that gift with family and friends, who encouraged marketing the product. The family started out with craft fairs and pepper shows, where the Habanero Pepper Jelly sold like hot cakes! In June 2003, Eileen and her eldest daughter, Julie, formed a women-owned limited liability corporation and named their pepper jelly business Brimstone Originals.

The business’s first year was a whirlwind of cooking frenzies at a leased kitchen. Meanwhile, the team developed a second flavor, Jalape�o Pepper Jelly. For nearly two decades, Brimstone Originals� Specialty Foods has continued to grow and thrive with Eileen as President and Julie as Vice President.
