Nettle Meadow Farm is a 50 acre goat and sheep dairy and cheese company in Thurman, New York just below Crane Mountain in the Adirondacks between Gore Mountain/North Creek, New York and Warrensburg, New York. It is owned and operated by Lorraine Lambiase and Sheila Flanagan. Both have a great love of animals, artisan cheese and the unique challenges of farm life. The farm is run with the assistance of Sheila's mother, Joan Flanagan. Nettle Meadow Farm was originally founded in 1990 and is the home of over 300 goats, several dozen sheep and a variety of farm sanctuary animals.

Nettle Meadow is committed to the principles of natural ingredients, happy and healthy animals, and carefully hand-crafted artisan cheeses. We make several varieties of soft goat cheeses including Chevre with Mixed Herbs, Olive Oil and Garlic Chevre, as well as Honey Lavender Fromage Blanc. They are also well known for our semi-aged cheeses, including triple creme Kunik made from goat milk and Jersey cow cream, and Crane Mountain made from 100% goat milk.

Our Featured Cheese from Nettle Meadow Farm

Fromage Blanc, Creme Fraiche, quark, cottage cheese or huttekase, all European fresh cheeses. Most of these fresh cheeses are made from cow's milk, but Nettle Meadow Farm took a side step by using goat's milk and infusing it with lavender flowers, and honey.

This cheese works well as a dessert, or serve it on a cheeseboard with fresh fruit; whip into a crepe with berries and bananas; or incorporate into a homemade cheesecake, or simply spread on a bagel or toast.
