Le Conquerant Camembert is a close cousin of Camembert de Normandy. Its strong aromatic hints of wet straw, brassica and apples are a reminder of why this authentic cheese has become a proud symbol of French cheese-making skills. Handmade in the Pays d'Auge region of Normandy, its secret lies in the use of specially selected cultures, molds and yeasts and, of course, rich Normandy milk.

The traditional wooden poplar box and wax-paper wrap create a micro-climate that encourages the chalky heart of a young cheese to slowly break down over 3-4 weeks, eventually becoming deliciously soft and fudgy by the use-by date.

This gourmet cheese, specially made for Will Studd, pairs well with dry cider, pinot noir and Merlot wine. Serve it with slices of apple, and a traditional French baguette.

Le Conquerant Camembert is also a great cheese to bake in the oven, in its box or inside a round bread or boule. Remove any plastic packaging before baking. The brie can be baked in the wooden box it comes in, but make sure it's secured with a metal staple rather than glue, which can melt and collapse in the oven. You can also transfer the cheese into a small ovenproof dish. It should fit snugly so it doesn’t escape when baking. You can score the cheese and add, garlic or herbs to the cheese before you place in a preheated oven of 350 degrees F. Bake for approx. 15 minutes and serve with toasted bread for a great appetizer.

Available in a cute 5.3 oz. and a 8.8 oz. boxed Camembert.
