Serrano ham or as the Spaniards will say Jamon Serrano. This is in theory very similar to the Italian Prosciutto. The difference that may determine the flavor is the type of pig used to create the ham and then obviously the diet of the pigs.
Serrano is often made from a specific breed of white pig, while Prosciutto can be made from pig or wild boar.
Serrano Ham is absolutely divine. Serve this rich and nutty flavored ham with fruit and of course a wedge of Manchego should not be absent.
