Mahon PDO Cheese

Mahon is made with milk from cows who live in the protected biosphere of the island of Menorca, part of the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea.

Mahon cheese is absolutely delicious; it is slightly sharp, milky, and salty. It is a very versatile cheese, that is often grated and used for topping pasta, rice and vegetable dishes. Traditionally, it was eaten sliced thin and drizzled with extra virgin olive oil.

Mahon is especially good with fruits and nuts. Try it in salad or melted over grilled vegetables and like so many other table cheeses, Mahon does wonders over pasta and rice. Also a great treat when it is melted on toast.

We cut and wrap this cheese is pieces of 1 pound and 8 ounces and you can also purchase an entire form of approx. 6.5 pounds.
